The Rhythm of Being Here: A mind-body retreat in Portugal

April 24 - 28, 2024

with Angela Mendes @upanji and Sandrine Harris @emergentnature

Join us on a journey exploring a conscious weave of our emotions, contemplations, thoughts, and movement through an embodied and expansive knowing.

We will listen to life’s invitations to dance with what arises and explore how it is in our own rhythm that acceptance shows up. Together, we will dismantle the elusive promise of the “getting there” and invite you to create your own Being Here.

  • movement for all bodies and everybody

  • meditations and time for reflection

  • journaling and readings from Angela's book "Getting There by Being Here"

  • connective conversations and deep listening

*This retreat is offered in Portuguese, English and French

Angela is an African born, mixed-race, an older cis woman, a so far able-bodied, a refugee, an emigrant, and a relentless “inner” explorer. Her work is subtle yet groundbreaking. Upanji, means energy, a space of acceptance, holding what arises, and integration. She is the author of Getting There by Being Here, Life’s Invitations to Dance

Sandrine is a Franco-American cis woman, passionate about exploring the world through the senses, through movement, and in meditative flow. She is a somatic (body-centered) trauma and chronic pain practitioner, dancer and meditation with a private practice and an international retreat and training process.
