Death, the necessary evil

Death can be an agent of change and growth.

It always takes the death of a belief or an illusion,

something strong to move us beyond the surface.

Sometimes it takes the threat of death;

a diagnosis of a fatal disease or an accident.

Other times, it is the death of a loved one

that shakes us to the core, forcing us to see farther.

Why is it necessary for a life changing event,

a threat, seeing death, to get in touch with our core?

Zooming out, on an evolutionary, historic perspective,

we do accept death as the true necessary evil.
